EastEnders spoilers: Sharon makes heartbreaking decision over baby Kayden

EastEnders viewers saw Sharon Mitchell's (played by Letitia Dean) world turned upside-down when her affair with Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) was revealed over Christmas. There was more heartbreak in-store when her son Dennis (Bleu Landau) died in the boat tragedy a couple of months later. After realising the only way to make amends with her husband Phil (Steve McFadden) was to give up her son, she asked Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) to look after him - but will she let Kayden leave the Square for good?

Sharon has had a turbulent year in Walford, after discovering she was pregnant with Keanu's unborn son as a result of her infidelity.

She managed to keep the news a secret for months, with her husband Phil believing he was the father.

However, when Mel Owen (Tamzin Outhwaite) found out the paternity of Sharon's baby, she made it her mission for Phil to hear the truth.

Mel was killed on her way to get to Phil but his ex - Lisa Fowler (Lucy Benjamin) - forced Sharon to admit her affair.

Phil was left devastated when Sharon finally revealed her affair over the festive season and he quickly threw her out the house they shared together.

As Albert Square's resident hard-man, Phil took it upon himself to sort Keanu out and ordered for him to be killed after his betrayal.

Martin Fowler (James Bye) was tasked with doing the deed but he couldn't bring himself to do so and let Keanu escape.

The tainted lover came back months later for the boat party, where he had a showdown with his love-rival, Phil.

In the weeks to follow, Sharon has started to repair her relationship with her estranged husband, with the latter promising to buy the Queen Vic.

However, with Sharon appearing to make the decision to give up her son, it seems she could end up changing her mind as she starts to become attached to Kayden.

Next week will see Sharon have to say goodbye to Kayden - but will she go through with her decision?

As Karen gears up to leave Walford, she tells Sharon she is not leaving until later in the day, giving her time to say goodbye to the newborn.

Sharon is left conflicted over the chance to spend extra time with her son before he departs and later on, Billy (Perry Fenwick) and Lola (Danielle Harold) are left concerned when the struggling mum tells Will (Freddie Phillips) he can help himself to Dennis's belongings.

This leads Billy to share a difficult reality with Sharon about Kayden - what will she do next?

She has promised Phil it will be just the two of them in their new life as they are set to take the reins of the Queen Vic.

Could she decide to ask Karen to adopt her young son to prove her commitment to her relationship with Phil and help her move on or will she change her mind at the last minute?
